FAQ

How long should I use the product?

The product should be used following the recommendations assigned to you. Remember that the instructions vary depending on your teeth color. The usage instructions will guide you step by step every three days until completing the nine consecutive days of whitening process.

Can I drink coffee, smoke, or have red wine during the product application?

The idea is not to change your lifestyle; you can consume foods or drinks with dyes or colorants during the product application in moderation. Always brush your teeth and tongue after consuming them.

Can I use the product if I have veneers, implants, crowns, restorations, (fillings)?

Yes! It’s safe to use EmeraWhite™ on both natural and unnatural tooth surfaces. Our formulation will not affect the color or shade of a crown, veneer, implant, filling or tooth restoration the product is most effective on natural teeth. However, if you're looking to enhance your smile, EmeraWhite™ can be useful in maintaining the same tone for teeth that have undergone dental work.

Do teeth whitening lights work?

Current research shows that Carbamide Peroxide (the ingredient used in EmeraWhite™) is effective in safely brightening teeth. Teeth whitening lights don’t add any more brilliance to your smile. In fact, some studies have shown that using them can even harm your lips and gums.

Should I brush my teeth after applying the product?

Yes, it is recommended. Our teeth whitening kit does not replace your daily oral hygiene routine. We suggest brushing your teeth at least twice a day for 2 minutes each time, and using dental floss.

Is EmeraWhite™ teeth whitening safe for everyone to use?

EmeraWhite™ by Emera provides a safe, comfortable way for most everyone to get a more radiant smile. Keep in mind, our products are not designed to whiten crowns, bridges, fillings and veneers.  If you have gum disease, worn enamel, cavities or exposed roots, we recommend talking to your dentist.

What are the ingredients of the gel?

Glycerin, carbamide peroxide, carbomer, menthol

Can I use the product if I have braces/orthodontics or invisible aligners?

Yes, EmeraWhite™ can be used during braces or invisible aligners.

How much EmeraWhite™ gel should I use per application?

Each application requires a thin line of 0,5 cc gel per tray. Each syringe provides to 3 days full applications

If I am experiencing sensitivity in my teeth or gums, what steps should I take?

Some people might feel a temporary discomfort in their gums, lips, throat, tongue or teeth from whitening. We recommend using our Sensitivity Relief gel (blue gel) after whitening to help soothe sensitive teeth. If you're still feeling discomfort after whitening, you can always reach out to your dentist. But don't worry, these side effects usually go away in just 1–3 days.
